July 29 - Russian logistics provider, Transafe Logistics and China-based Seajet Company Limited accomplished loading of heavy weight equipment destined to Abadan Oil refinery in Iran.

  • Heavier Unit: Desalter main body
  • Dimensions: 1 piece/ 25.23 X 4.17 X 4.7m / 100 tons
  • Origin Port: Heshangdao, (Dalian, China)
  • Destination: Bandar Imam Khomeini port, Iran

Seajet made all the arrangements to receive the cargo in the port of Dalian as per contract terms. Due to the extremely low market it was a challenge to find an appropriate vessel to call Bandar Imam Khomeini port within the limited time frame.

As a solution, Seajet offered to use the port of Tianjin as an alternative port of loading and arranged the delivery of the Desalter by barge from Heshangdao to Tianjin. It gave all parties more flexibility and proved to be more cost effective.

There were THREE loading/unloading operations performed before the breakbulk vessel departure:

  1. Cross loading was done from low-bed trailer onto barge in Dalian by means of 2 x 100 tons capacity cranes
  2. Cross loading was performed from the barge onto low-bed trailer in Tianjin by shore crane (the only 200 tons capacity shore crane in Northern China ports) to wait for the breakbulk vessel and save costs during transshipment
  3. Cross loading was done from low-bed trailer onto the breakbulk vessel in Tianjin by vessel cranes (4 x 50 tons combined).

During project execution, Seajet staff members were supervising all loading operations to ensure smooth procedures and cargo safety. Both Transafe Logistics JSC and Seajet Company Limited are members of WCA Projects network.
