France Cargo International (FCI) Moves Heat Exchanger from Shanghai to Grenoble, France

France Cargo International Cie SA recently managed the movement of a huge heat exchanger and related equipment from Shanghai to the final destination of Lyon, France. The cargo traveled via breakbulk vessel on OOCL from Shanghai to the port of Fos-sur-Mer, France where it cleared Customs and was then loaded onto a barge for a 300 km journey to Lyon, which took 3 days. Due to many road restrictions and time to get necessary permits, the barge movement was much quicker for the oversized cargo.

At Lyon, the cargo was then loaded on three special trailers. A further four days were required to get the largest piece of cargo to the final destination due to various road restrictions and having to briefly close a tram crossing at 01:30 (night driving only).
