NEWSLETTER - JUNE 2022

WCA Projects Conference in Amsterdam Back On Track!

WCA held it’s first Projects conference since 2019 in Amsterdam last month with an enthusiastic group of 115 attendees. We started on Friday with an afternoon canal boat tour which allowed people to get acquainted over drinks and bitterballen before the conference opened, followed by our opening cocktail party that evening at the hotel.

Many new members (26 since 2019 conference) and first time attendees came and were all introduced to the group during the plenary session. A large number of attendees indicated during the plenary that they were also going on to the Breakbulk event in Rotterdam following the conference. We had a great gala dinner on Saturday night with music and dancing as people showed they were happy to be back out in public again with no face masks in sight! 1 on 1 meetings were busy with 828 meetings over Saturday and Sunday, and many informal meetings were held during the social settings.

Congratulations to the Best Project Partners who were announced at the dinner:

  • Paccon Logistics, South Africa – Top Worldwide Partner
  • Paccon Logistics, South Africa – Africa Region
  • Everokgroup, China – Asia & Asia Pacific Region
  • Embassy Freight Services, Germany – Europe Region
  • Total Movements, India – Indian Sub-Continent
  • Axis Shipping, Brazil - Latin America
  • Polaris Shipping, UAE – Middle East Region

We are planning the 2023 conference to be the first week of June just prior to Breakbulk Europe which is in Rotterdam again next year from June 6 – 8. Further details will be shared well in advance and we expect a strong turnout in 2023 as travel continues to open up.

WCA Projects Booth at Breakbulk Europe 2022 Was Busy!

WCA Projects had a booth again this year at Breakbulk Europe in Rotterdam right after the Projects conference in Amsterdam. After a two year absence, there was a very big turnout overall for the event, and the WCA Projects booth was very busy with numerous visitors and members stopping in to chat. People were obviously excited to be out in the real world again. Many of the attendees from our Amsterdam conference also went to Breakbulk due to the close timing of our two events. We will continue to schedule our Projects conference close to Breakbulk in 2023.

This year’s Projects booth sponsors at Breakbulk were

  • Global Shipping LLC (USA),
  • Share Logistics (Netherlands)
  • MGL Logistics (Tunisia)
  • InterAmerican (Argentina)

We are already planning for Breakbulk 2023 in Rotterdam again June 6 – 8.
Next year -  a bigger booth!
